The purpose of this course is to establish in our students a foundational knowledge of soil science, sustainable, organic horticulture. This foundation begins in the soil and then extends through the botanical world drawing real world examples and using a diverse array of scientific thought stemming from biology, geology, hydrology and climatology. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: ● Establish a foundational understanding of soil science and how it relates to our gardens ● Establish a greater understanding of microflora and microfauna and how it can impact our gardens ● To indoctrinate our students in the philosophy and standardized best practices of regenerative, sustainable, organic horticulture.
