They will be able to interpret and apply cannabis laws and regulations, implement lean farming principles to optimize efficiency, and manage critical aspects of commercial cannabis cultivation. This includes evaluating sustainable site selection, designing and implementing advanced security protocols, and developing a comprehensive understanding of environmental controls and automation systems essential for maintaining optimal growing conditions in a cannabis facility. Students will also gain proficiency in managing complex fertigation and irrigation systems, coordinating harvesting and packaging operations, and utilizing seed-to-sale tracking software like METRC to ensure compliance, traceability, and operational excellence.
